Liberty in Pop-Culture

The Statue of Liberty is an important part of America’s history and heritage. It is no wonder that the “Lady Liberty” has found expression in Movies, Comic Books, Books and Music. From the movie “Ghost Busters 2″ where they rode the animated Statue of Liberty through the streets of New York to help bring joy and happiness to all New Yorkers and overcome the harden shell of negative emotions to defeat the bad guy, to the movie X-men where superhero mutant team battled against the Magneto and his evil crew atop the Statue of Liberty. Directors, writers and musicians were inspired by the Statue of Liberty and the message she symbolizes. Her message is one of freedom and of hope to all and she will always be center stage whenever the message of freedom is express through the “Arts”.lennon_liberty2
